Linux Engineers - OpenStack, Python

Job Description

We are looking for Linux System Engineers to provide enterprise-level expertise to our helpdesk platform. You will be responsible for scaling the helpdesk platform, innovating and implementing critical security updates and architecting the system for high availability.

Ultimately, you will be a person our developers trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical problems and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Working with our development team on understanding and optimizing the Linux OS for their needs. Solving problems with their deployments on top of the latest Linux OS.
  • Working with our development team for the deployment of OpenStack in a full-scale deployment.
  • OS troubleshooting skills across different application types. Using performance tools to improve performance and scale of different environments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Track issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal and external teams.
  • Ensure all issues are properly logged.
  • Prioritize and manage several issues at one time.
  • Document technical knowledge.
  • Undergo ongoing training.

Requirements

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or CentOS build, deployment, and operations.
  • Knowledge of OpenScap and Standard Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) would be an advantage.
  • Software-defined storage knowledge with CEPH would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of VM based environments including container environments such as Docker, LXC, etc.
  • OpenStack deployment or operations experience.
  • Extensive knowledge/experience with automating deployment, scaling and management of container applications - OpenStack.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible and/or Puppet).
  • Software-defined network technologies including OVS, OVN, NFV
  • Hypervisor technologies including KVM, VMware.
  • Experience in scripting languages - Python.
